Once when asked to name her favorite piece of music, Elizabeth replied, “I think it’s called “Adagio something.”  “Who is the composer?” she was asked – “there are many Adagios?”.  She proceeded to hum a slow, hauntingly lingering, but beautiful melody.  When googled on U-Tube,  she recognized “the Adagio by Samuel Barber” and as her favorite piece of music.  Crippled by grief, I could not eulogize at her Memorial Service.  This was my way of connecting to her – emotions to emotions.
